The woman you see today wasn't always here.
For years, I believed I was doing everything right.
I worked hard. I exercised regularly. I looked after everyone else.
Yet beneath the surface I often felt exhausted, disconnected from my body and frustrated by how little seemed to change.
The most frustrating part was feeling like I was doing everything right and still not feeling like myself.
It is easy to believe your own health can wait.
After 40 years balancing work, life and responsibilities across different corporate environments, I understand how easy it is to put yourself last.
There is always another deadline. Another responsibility. Another reason to delay looking after yourself properly.
Until one day you realise you have become disconnected from the very person you are trying so hard to take care of.
I had started to lose trust in myself.
I kept telling myself I would start tomorrow. Tomorrow I would eat better. Tomorrow I would train. Tomorrow I would stop eating certain things or lose a certain amount of weight by a certain date.
And every time I didn't follow through, I chipped away at my own confidence and self-belief.
Discipline was never the problem.
As a 4th Dan Black Belt, I know discipline. I know consistency. I know what it means to keep showing up.
I thought I needed to try harder. What I actually needed was a different approach.
What I eventually realised was that many women do not need to be pushed harder.
They need to feel supported, understood and reconnected with what their body is actually asking for.
The biggest shift was how I saw myself.
I stopped hoping things would change and started becoming the person I wanted to be — through the choices I made each day.
I started training intentionally. I changed my relationship with food. I began eating the foods my body actually needed, without turning it into another set of rules.
No foods were off the table. But over time, the foods I used to crave started to lose their pull because I had replaced them with healthier options I genuinely enjoyed far more.
Small promises became the foundation.
Not perfection. Not restriction. Not waiting for motivation. Just small actions repeated often enough to rebuild confidence, self-belief and trust.
- Intentional training
- Food freedom
- Real nourishment
- Consistency over extremes
This is why Nourished Roots is not about another quick fix.
When your body changes, especially through perimenopause, menopause and beyond, the answer is not to punish it into submission.
The answer is to understand what it needs next — and build a way of living that supports the woman you are becoming.
Why Nourished Roots exists.
Nourished Roots Coaching was created because I believe lasting change happens when we stop fighting our bodies and start supporting them.
I do not believe women need more restriction, more guilt or more pressure.
Most women already know what they should be doing. What they need is support, clarity and an approach that works with their body rather than against it.
Through nourishment, sleep, stress management and movement that fit real life, lasting change becomes possible.
Because I know what happens when you rebuild trust with yourself.
I know what it feels like to feel stuck, frustrated and disconnected from yourself.
And I also know what can happen when you start keeping small promises, supporting your body and becoming the woman you want to be.
That is why I created Nourished Roots Coaching.
