I know because I lived it
I was going to the gym four times a week, eating what I thought was relatively healthy — and still couldn't understand why I felt exhausted, foggy and stuck.
After 40 years balancing work, life and responsibilities across different corporate environments, I understand how easy it is to put your own wellbeing at the bottom of the list.
And the longer that happens, the more normal it can start to feel.
For years I focused on looking after everyone else, meeting deadlines, managing responsibilities and simply getting through the day. Like many women, I believed my own health could wait until everything else was done. The reality is that later rarely comes — and learning to prioritise my wellbeing became one of the most important investments I ever made in myself.
As a 4th dan black belt, I knew discipline. I knew consistency. But I also learned that pushing harder is not the same as supporting your body properly.
